Transformers 5 probably happening in 2017

With Transformers: Age of Extinction looking to reboot the Transformers series, and with it most likely making lots of money, it's sadly natural that the follow up would already be discussed. According to some leaked toy docu...

New poster for Transformers: Age of Extinction looks surprisingly cool

I'll be honest and admit that I've never really been into any of the Transformers movies. A lot of the past movies in the franchise have seemed like blundering, all flash, no substance action-y movies, and for the most part t...

First full trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction photo
First full trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction
by Mike Cosimano

As I sit here, ruminating on the first full trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction, I can't help but feel like I've done this before. Twice, in fact. Michael Bay's Transformers movies and I have a difficult relationship. It's like the Sonic cycle: the last one was disappointing, but maybe this one will be good!

But look at all the signs! The designs look cleaner, the colors look brighter, everything looks a lot less dingy, and it just looks straight up fun. Will this be the first good Transformers movie? I can't wait to find out!

Super Bowl TV spot for Transformers: Age of Extinction photo
Super Bowl TV spot for Transformers: Age of Extinction
by Nick Valdez

Folks, this might be the Transformers movie we've all been waiting for. While this official Super Bowl spot is short, it gives us more information than we can handle. In fact, this looks like a completely different series. Gone are the Labeoufs, random hot girl poses, and military action, and here in its place is the lovable (and more action oriented) Mark Wahlberg, a girl who plays his daughter instead of love interest, oh and DINOBOTS.

Yes the dinosaur robots rumored and teased for the better half of a year have finally been revealed. AND OPTIMUS PRIME RIDES A TYRANNOSAURUS REX. It all looks so good, I'm willing to forgive the other films and look at this from a positive angle from now on. It just looks fun. Transformers: Age of Extinction rolls out June 27th.

Transformers 4 now Transformers: Age of Extinction photo
Transformers 4 now Transformers: Age of Extinction

Transfomers: Dark of the Moon may not have been the best thing since, uh, Dark Side of the Moon, but it performed well enough to justify a sequel. But what can Trans4mers, now officially titled Transformers: Age of Extinction, do? In the third film every bad robot guy is like totally dead and their home planet got like so black holed, so what could possibly come next? Apparently, there's an answer for that: Dinosaur Robots.

While the Dinobots (a popular troop of dinosaur robots from the cartoon) aren't confirmed, a synopsis was revealed a while back that stated "an ancient, powerful Transformer menace" will threaten Marky Mark (who's now the lead of the film instead of Shia LeBeouf) and the Funky Bots. And really, what else can Bay pull out of his butt? Included in the gallery is the teaser poster that reveals the title of the film and hints at the "post-apocalyptic wasteland" feel. What do you all think? You ready for some hot robot on dinosaur action? Transformers: Age of Extinction rolls out into theaters June 27th next year.
