First teaser for The Woman in Black: Angel of Death

I've never seen 2012's The Woman in Black for myself, but I've heard good things. Not particularly about the film's plot, but hey, whatever works. Anyway, here's the first super brief teaser for its sequel, The Woman in Blac...

First trailer for Jason Reitman's Men, Women & Children

This teaser trailer for Jason Reitman's next film, Men, Women & Children has quite the hook. It's nearly silent, folks are looking at their phones, and people stare blankly into space. While that doesn't make for th...

US teaser trailer for Studio Ghibli's The Tale of Princess Kaguya

Although there were a few rumblings of Studio Ghibli closing its doors a few weeks back, thankfully none of those rumors came to be as the company's just getting its act together. Case in point, The Tale of Princess Kaguya i...

First official trailer for The Spongebob Squarepants Movie: Sponge Out of Water

It's astonishing that Spongebob Squarepants has made it this long and still has a crazy fandom surrounding it. I remember when it first started as part of the new wave of Nicktoons as Rugrats and the like were growing up. Bu...

First teaser trailer for Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb

While I've never been drawn to the Night at the Museum series myself, I know a lot of people who enjoy them. They're a harmless set of films where Robin Williams gets to dress as a convincing Teddy Roosevelt, and there are a...

First official trailer for Kevin Smith's Tusk

Regardless of our opinions on Kevin Smith here at Flixist, we always seem to find ourselves talking about him. It's because he's managed to turn his few successes into a huge marketing juggernaut with the "Askewniverse," pod...

First official trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies photo
First official trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
by Nick Valdez

I love how they're claiming The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is "The Defining Chapter" in the story since the book itself is only a fraction of all of this. In what is most likely the most bloated title of the series, the third film takes place after the events of The Desolation of Smaug as Bilbo finds himself in the middle of a fight between Smaug, Orcs, Sauron, and many other things.

Sorry, I'm just not into these films so I'm not the proper fellow to tell you why any of this is notable. Help me out, community! The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies hits theaters December 17th.

Comic-Con trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 photo
Comic-Con trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1
by Nick Valdez

I'm loving the advertising campaign for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 so far. Continuing on with the minimalist teasers is the Comic-Con trailer which contains the first actual footage from the film. Not much is said, but a lot is teased. If I had one qualm about the footage, it's going to take me a bit to get used to Julianne Moore's hair/wig. But I hope that discomfort goes away since I'm still not used to looking at Lawrence's fake hair.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 releases November 21st. Here's the cool Comic-Con poster.

First teaser for Nightcrawler, starring Jake Gyllenhaal

First teaser trailer for Paradise Lost starring Benecio Del Toro

I was raised to be a huge fan of Benecio Del Toro. My dad loves him because he's one of the first Latino actors to hit the big time, and he wasn't part of the Latin Boom in the mid 90s either (Although that boom did bri...

Second The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 teaser keeps the propaganda going

Japanese teaser for next Ghibli film, When Marnie Was There

First teaser for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is cooler than you'd expect photo
First teaser for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is cooler than you'd expect
by Nick Valdez

Rather than go for the conventional teaser trailer that we run on the site everyday, our first look at The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is much better than I expected. A unique twist on the viral propaganda campaign the film has been running for the last few months, here we have a message from President Snow (Donald Sutherland) explaining why The Capitol is so important.

If you've read the books, you understand why Snow's with a certain guest in the video. If you haven't then you're going to have so many questions. A cool delivery with a teased mystery? That's the perfect way to make teaser trailers, folks. More please.

Expect a more conventional trailer to pop up soon given that we're five months away from the film's release. I liked Catching Fire enough, so I can't wait for more. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 releases November 21st.

First teaser trailer for Disney/Marvel's Big Hero 6 photo
First teaser trailer for Disney/Marvel's Big Hero 6
by Nick Valdez

After the first images released for Disney Animation's first take on a Marvel comic, Big Hero 6, I've been looking forward to the first teaser. Thankfully, I'm picking up what it's putting down. Although we don't get much story, we do get a big hint of the overall theme. In the teaser, Hiro is trying to turn his cuddly and mushy robot friend Baymax into a hardened battle machine.

I'm sure that's going to play a bigger role in the film later on as his town of San Franstokyo is in trouble (even if it looks a bit too kid friendly). And after Frozen, I'm entirely confident this is going to be great. Big Hero 6 hits theaters November 7th.

First teaser for the Peanuts movie looks astounding photo
First teaser for the Peanuts movie looks astounding
by Nick Valdez

When news first broke of a CG take of Charles Schulz's Peanuts gang, I was hesitant toward the idea. We've been groomed to automatically dislike animated reboots because the majority of the ones we've had have been lackluster and failed to reach the greatness of the original properties. But we have no reason to worry here.

Since the film's not releasing until 2015, this brief teaser shown during Good Morning America doesn't show much, but it looks fabulous. Just look at that animation! The new movie is said to be respectful toward the original comic (going so far as to use Bill Melendez's voiceover work for Snoopy and Woodstock), so I honestly can't wait.

Peanuts hits theaters November 6th, 2015.
