Super Bowl TV spot for The Divergent Series: Insurgent

With as interesting as the Divergent sequel, Insurgent, may be, I really hoped it would've fixed its CG issues by now. It's a shame too because the whole dreamscape aspects are putting out all sorts of crazy Matrix vibes (al...

First official trailer for Ted 2 photo
First official trailer for Ted 2
by Nick Valdez

Ted was a nice surprise. Seth MacFarlane's passion project shined with all of the humor and heart that I would've never expected from the guy who brought us Family Guy. Then A Million Ways to Die in the West came along and well, now I'm not so sure what Ted 2 will bring.

Now that we have our first trailer (playing during the Super Bowl on Sunday) for the sequel I'm not sure what to think. Although comedy sequels rarely turn out well, maybe this'll be that rare gem? I honestly laughed quite a bit, even if it steals that semen joke from Family Guy. But can a guy steal from himself? Ted 2 releases June 26th.

Super Bowl TV spot for Terminator: Genisys photo
Super Bowl TV spot for Terminator: Genisys
by Nick Valdez

This Super Bowl spot for Terminator: Genisys may take a bit of footage from the first (hilariously convoluted) trailer, but there's a bit at the end that I'm most excited for. Also, it's really hard looking at this newest poster touting Arnold's return and not lose my f**king mind. Seriously I'm so hyped for this now, bad spelling and all.

Terminator: Genisys releases July 1st. Expect more Super Bowl spots to come.

First teaser for Turbo Kid, set in a post apocalyptic 1997

This may be the very definition of a teaser, coming in at less than 40 seconds, but boy do I need Turbo Kid in my life. Premiering at Sundance this year, Turbo Kid is an apocalypse set in a futuristic 1997. This is teaser is...

First official teaser for Fantastic Four photo
First official teaser for Fantastic Four
by Nick Valdez

After a few years of back and forth between good and bad sounding news, we finally have our first concrete look at Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot. Aaaand it's not that bad. Sure it's a bit dark (literally, that shading is sort of awful), and I would've liked another silly movie, but I'm still digging what this is selling. That cast is too good to pass up.

Although being advertised as "From the Studio that Brought You X-Men: Days of Future Past" is a bit weird, instead of say throwing muscle behind Trank's last effort Chronicle. Oh well, Fant4stic Four opens August 7th.

And below the jump is a version of the trailer with commentary from Josh Trank and Simon Kinberg via Yahoo!

First teaser trailer for Dead Rising: Watchtower

For a film based off the cheesy Dead Rising videogames going straight to Sony's Crackle streaming service, this doesn't look that bad. Doesn't have enough Frank West covering wars though. Dead Rising: Watchtower is available March 27th.

First trailer for DC's direct to video Batman vs. Robin

Ever since the animated Justice League specials committed to the New 52 continuity (after The Flashpoint Paradox), they haven't been very good. I don't know what's to blame for that either. Is it the comics themselves? Is it...

Second Chappie trailer has robots and robot accessories

Neill Blomkamp always makes some interesting, if not always entertaining, science fiction, so I'm definitely curious as to where Chappie is headed. It's got ED-209s, Hugh Jackman using his natural accent for once, and Sigour...

Unfriended looks like a made for TV movie, but is coming to theaters anyway

Losing out on a big chance to debut with a neat viral thing, here's the first trailer for Unfriended. A horror film taking place on computer screens, it's about a group of friends on a skype call as they're haunted by t...

Newest Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer is better than the first

This may technically be a TV spot that debuted during, um, sports(?), but it's long enough and full of new footage so I'm going to go ahead and say this is the second trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron. It's much more balan...

First trailer for Run All Night starring Liam Neeson

I don't know about you all, but I miss the super dramatic Liam Neeson. Sure his latest career trend has been awesome, and in reverse as you'd expect a young man to take on a bunch of action films and gradually join Oscar nom...

First trailer for James Wan produced Demonic, a film trapped in hell

First official trailer for Marvel's Ant-Man photo
First official trailer for Marvel's Ant-Man
by Nick Valdez

It's been a bumpy road for Marvel's Ant-Man. From former director Edgar Wright publicly leaving the project, to multiple writers tackling rewrites, to multiple cast additions late in production, the odds have certainly been stacked against Marvel's most likely weirdest superhero.

But as Guardians of the Galaxy proves, having oddball content doesn't mean failure. Folks flocked to that film and it was regarded as one of Marvel's best by most fans. So what will the future hold for Ant-Man? If this first trailer is indication, maybe it's good things.

Ant-Man releases July 17th.

FlixList: The Ten Best Trailers of 2014 photo
FlixList: The Ten Best Trailers of 2014
by Nick Valdez

Around this time last year, I wrote a list of the Best and Worst Trailers of 2013. While there won't be a "worst" list this year, that just means the trailers of 2014 have been all around much better than before. As studios fight over your hard earned movie money, they've been far more creative and unique with their campaigns. From viral videos, to teasers with confidence in the material, having my job of sifting through tons and tons of trailers every day has never been better.

That also means I've cherry picked the best and brightest for you all. Some trailers are films releasing next year, some have already come and gone, and one is stuck in limbo. These are the ten trailers that'll make you want to show up early to your screening to see them on the big screen.

Here are the ten best trailers of 2014.
