New trailer for Maps to the Stars, Cronenberg's latest, looks... ominous

Few directors have as strong and consistent a track record as David Cronenberg. This energetic, beautifully cut trailer sees his latest, Maps to the Stars looking like a very worthy addition to that canon. If anything, this ...

Trailer for Crumbs by Miguel Llansó

There's no shortage of post-apocalyptic stories in the pop-culture landscape these days, but if this enigmatic trailer for Miguel Llansó's Crumbs is any indication, there are still ways to put a new spin on the old ta...

First trailer for Hot Pursuit starring Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara

Remember The Proposal? It was a not half bad film starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. Hot Pursuit is directed by the same woman Anne Fletcher, and also mixes two cast members you wouldn't expect with somewhat interest...

First The Man from U.N.C.L.E. trailer is F.U.N.

Now here's a trailer our Matthew Razak, Bond aficionado and baby daddy, will definitely get a kick out of. When Guy Ritchie's attached to a project, such as The Man from U.N.C.L.E. adaptation of a 1960s spy TV show, you know...

First trailer for Trainwreck starring Amy Schumer

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm definitely ready for more comedienne led films. One of my biggest films from last year (which you'll find on this handy list) was the Jenny Slate vehicle, Obvious Child. The two ma...

Newest Pitch Perfect 2 trailer is almost perfect

I'm still very much as excited for Pitch Perfect 2 as I was in our staff's Most Anticipated of 2015 list, but this newest trailer for it worries me a bit. Sure it's got the same lovable 80s movie cheese (lol European super g...

First trailer for N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton

I'm normally not a fan of biopics as they're usually hokey, but this first Red Band trailer for N.W.A.'s biopic Straight Outta Compton looks much better than other other ones out right now. It doesn't seem cheesy like those ...

Second Furious 7 trailer is still furious

Furious 7 is definitely my most anticipated film of 2015. Over big science fantasy action, man dancing, and comic book shenanigans, Furious 7 is the biggest sequel of the year. But I'm trying to not let myself get too excite...

First official trailer for Poltergeist

Did you all know there was a Poltergeist remake in the works? Normally we're on top of these things, but this one seems to have slipped under the radar. The original Poltergeist still scares the heck out of me, so I don't kn...

Super Bowl TV spot for Fifty Shades of Grey

In preparation for the Fifty Shades film, which I have no idea which one of us is going to review yet, I started reading the book. Boy, is it far more fan fiction-y than I had realized. It's got some of the worst written sex...

Super Bowl TV Spot for Minions

They're baaaaaaack! Or, rather, they're here, since Minions serves as a prequel. Arguably the best characters in the Despicable Me franchise finally have their own film, and I couldn't be more excited. In Minions, ...

Super Bowl TV Spot for Spongebob: Sponge Out of Water

Super Bowl TV spot for Kingsman: The Secret Service

I'm not sure what to think of Kingsman: The Secret Service. It looks interesting, but it's yet another adaptation based off another of Mark Millar's comic books. The guy doesn't have the best track record, and the films base...

Super Bowl TV spot for Pitch Perfect 2

I've been worried about Pitch Perfect 2 since it was announced a few years ago. I really liked the first one (enough to watch it several times), and a lot of the humor just kind of *clicked* with me. But the more I watched i...

Super Bowl TV spot for Tomorrowland photo
Super Bowl TV spot for Tomorrowland
by Nick Valdez

Through its trailers and how little story we've been given so far, Tomorrowland is shaping up to be one of the more interesting movies this year. Like Pirates of the Caribbean, it's a film adapted from Disney parks, but unlike Pirates, it's being handled by a good team. This Super Bowl spot shows a bit of new footage (though it's missing the cool robots from the Comic-Con stuff) and more Clooney monologue, so it's all good in my book.

Directed by Brad Bird, starring George Clooney and Britt Robertson, Tomorrowland opens May 22nd.

Super Bowl TV spot for Jurassic World photo
Super Bowl TV spot for Jurassic World

Jurassic World's first trailer was underwhelming for a number of reasons. As cool as a raptor gang was, the CG wasn't quite there yet and the tone of the trailer couldn't decide if it was supposed to be intentionally goofy or not. Thanks to better editing and a bit of new footage, the Super Bowl spot is much more gripping.

Cool new dinos, cool new scares, and some poor Mexican worker is eaten (I always focus on the weirdest things). All good, good stuff. Jurassic World opens June 12th.

Pack it up, every other movie of 2015. You're done. I'm calling it now, there won't be a better scene this year than the final shot of Furious 7's Super Bowl spot. I've still got goosebumps! Furious 7 releases April 3rd.

Here's a description:

Continuing the global exploits in the unstoppable franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of Fast & Furious 7. James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series that also welcomes back favorites Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black. They are joined by international action stars new to the franchise including Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey and Kurt Russell. Neal H. Moritz, Vin Diesel and Michael Fottrell return to produce the film written by Chris Morgan.

Super Bowl TV spot for The Divergent Series: Insurgent

First official trailer for Ted 2 photo
First official trailer for Ted 2
by Nick Valdez

Ted was a nice surprise. Seth MacFarlane's passion project shined with all of the humor and heart that I would've never expected from the guy who brought us Family Guy. Then A Million Ways to Die in the West came along and well, now I'm not so sure what Ted 2 will bring.

Now that we have our first trailer (playing during the Super Bowl on Sunday) for the sequel I'm not sure what to think. Although comedy sequels rarely turn out well, maybe this'll be that rare gem? I honestly laughed quite a bit, even if it steals that semen joke from Family Guy. But can a guy steal from himself? Ted 2 releases June 26th.
