Newest Into the Woods trailer finally reveals it's a musical

It's not like Disney has been hiding the fact their latest big budget project, Into the Woods, is based off Stephen Sondheim's musical, but they're not shouting it from the rooftops either. With the first couple of trailers ...

Full length The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies trailer lands photo
Full length The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies trailer lands
by Matthew Razak

While the previous two Hobbit films have been great I don't think they really lived up to the grandeur of the Lord of the Rings films. However, with this new full length trailer landing for The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies I think we may have a winner. At least we know that the rumors of a 45 minute battle to end the film are probably true considering the entire trailer is a battle.

Giving us our best look at what appears to be a movie that will be nothing but a bunch of armies fighting each other the trailer definitely ratchets up the tension. More importantly, and missing from the previous films in some ways, is the shifts in character. This looks like the film where we actually get to see some darkness in Thorin creep out.

Think the conclusion to the trilogy will stand once it arrives on December 17th?

Final Penguins of Madagascar trailer is more funny business

This final trailer for The Penguins of Madagascar shows off a bit of the footage Matt checked out during New York Comic Con. He said it was surprisingly entertaining and I can't blame him. I found myself laughing quite a bit...

Trailer for The Spongebob Squarepants Movie: Sponge Out of Water

I'm not ashamed by how much I laughed at this trailer. Sure the new Spongebob film, Sponge Out of Water, will appeal mostly to kids with its bright colors and hyperactive characters, but Spongebob's stuck around for a reason...

Trailer for Neill Blomkamp's Chappie debuts

This morning, the first trailer for Chappie was released, following yesterday's reveal of the movie's poster. I'm a huge fan of Neill Blomkamp's work, so I'm pretty excited about this film. Chappie is a story of the first ro...

Trailer for McFarland, USA features minorities triumphing

As far as motivational sports movies go Disney has been on a pretty good streak of pumping out at least descent films. Million Dollar Arm was enjoyable and the next in the line up is McFarland, USA, which, you guessed i...

Trailer for Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever exists

Lifetime movies sure have gone downhill. Let's hope this doesn't involve the domestic, sexual, alcoholic abuse normally found on the station that (not) surprisingly doesn't use the "Television for Women" mantra as much as it...

First teaser for Jingle All the Way 2

You know how Larry the Cable Guy rolls his eyes at the end of the teaser? That's pretty much how I'm feeling right now. Thank Jebus it's only thirty seconds long...and direct to DVD. At least it's easier to avoid that way. P...

Final trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 photo
Final trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1
by Nick Valdez

With the final trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, the awesome marketing this film has had comes to a close. From great propaganda style teasers and posters, to how few trailers for the film we actually got (usually we're told of like twenty of these videos a day, I'm going to miss Mockingjay. I'm sure the film'll be great too.

As the final book in The Hunger Games series, Mockingjay finally explored themes outside of its original (but not very unique) premise. The first half is definitely the best part, so I can't wait to see the results. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 has got that fire, fire, fire and it's gonna let it burn November 21st.

Well I guess no one has to watch Agents of SHIELD on the 28th anymore. Thanks to a snafu leading to a leaked teaser earlier today (which we didn't post because Flixist doesn't dabble in the dark legal arts), Marvel has gone ahead and officially released the first teaser for the much anticipated Avengers sequel, Age of Ultron

We've got a darker tone, James Spader as the killer robot Ultron, and Marvel's version of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Oh right, and HULKBUSTER YEEEEEEEEEEEAH.

Avengers: Age of Ultron releases May 1, 2015.

Red Band teaser for The Gambler is a big f**k you

Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 teaser shows off new footage

This newest teaser for The Hunger Games Mockingjay - Part 1 is short (clocking in at barely over a minute), but boy does it work. Showing off Lorde's new single "Yellow Flicker Beat," the teaser reveals what happens when Katniss makes her way back to District 12. Let's just say things are going to get pretty good.  The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 releases November 21st.
