Or, you know, we might not.
Felicity Jones, who plays the film's main character Jyn Erso, was the highest-paid member of the Rogue One cast, a rarity in an industry that typically underpays its actresses compared to their male counterparts. Even though the newly introduced characters in Rogue One die at the end of the movie, Jones has a one sequel option in her contract.
I don't know how this is going to work at all. Jyn's death is really heroic and well done, and a return-from-the-dead swerve could cheapen the pathos of the team's sacrifice. Maybe she appears in another standalone film?
Could be this one-sequel option was just an attempt to secure a better deal for Jones in her contract. It's just an option, not a guarantee.
If this is a sign of what's to come for Jones and Jyn Erso, this is almost as big a Russo swerve as what happens to Dom in The Fate of the Furious. #RogueFamily
