Check out new stills from Oz the Great and PowerfulNew stills have been released from director Sam Raimi’s newest film, Oz the Great and Powerful. The film stars James Franco as Oscar Diggs, a circus magician who is transported to the world of Oz. From there he gets brought into a battle with the three witches: Theodora the Wicked Witch of the West played by Mila Kunis, Evanora the Wicked Witch of the East played by Rachel Weisz, and Glinda the Good Witch of the South played by Michelle Williams. From these, we can definitely see that this film will be quite colorful and vibrant looking which is what Oz should be. A bigger highlight of these stills is Raimi’s interpretation of the Munchkins in the colorful world of Oz. Hopefully it will continue to stay bright and cheerful, with the appropriate darker settings of course. Personally, I do want to see this when it comes out. I am, however, a little wary seeing as I did not like the 2010 version of Alice in Wonderland all too much, but from what I can tell the only connections between the two are producer Joe Roth, his studio, and Walt Disney Pictures is distributing the film. But I am a skeptical man at heart, so maybe I’ll be wrong and this will be a good film! Check out Oz the Great and Powerful when it opens March 8th. [via Collider] Did you know?
