Chevy Chase & Dan Aykroyd plan to write new comedy

While we all try and come to terms with the possibility of Dan Aykroyd trying to get a third Ghostbusters made, in the midst of all this, he's decided to partner up with his comedic colleague, Chevy Chase, to try and crack out another comedic masterpiece... which probably won't happen, but it's fun to think about. While most people are probably thinking of more commercial successes they could give updates to, like Spies Like Us, I'm thinking more obscure. I'm thinking more weird. Something capacious. Something mega. Something CAJUNGA.

That's right, I'm thinking... Nothing But Trouble... 2. If you've seen this movie, you know that one, it haunts your nightmares, two, it's damned hilarious, and three, it's just begging for a sequel. Here you have Chevy Chase driving to Atlantic City with Demi Moore and two yuppy Hispanic neighbors of his. They get lost and wind up in some strange town called Valkenvania. They get pulled over by John Candy, who plays an upright cop trying to do the right thing. He arrests them for not stopping at a stop sign and, well, just being snobby. He brings them to a junkyard where nestled right in the middle is a courthouse straight out of the colonial era. Presiding over the court is "the judge," played brilliantly by Dan Aykroyd, an aging war veteran who imposes his own brutal sense of justice on those brought before him. Meanwhile there's these huge, deformed man-babies with mild down syndrome that he keeps in the junkyard as apparent slaves. The judge, meanwhile, tries to force Chevy Chase to marry a woman version of John Candy (apparently the cop version's sister). A serial killing judge, a trigger happy cop, a hip hop music video and a gunshot wedding.

SERIOUSLY. What more could you ask for?!?

Plus, it's sort of en vogue to do a movie nowadays about someone from a normal world getting lost in some crazy world where nothing's quite the same. That Alice in Wonderland thingy raked in the cash, so I think it could really pay off for the aging comedy duo to try and crank a sequel out of this obscure film. I'd love to see what's up with those crazy folks in Valkenvania again. Even though it tanked at the box office, it's just too good of an opportunity to pass up. There really doesn't exist a great trailer to this movie, so I'll just post a scene from the film that perfectly illustrates the insanity of this film after the jump. Go for it.

The Hangover has been an odd trilogy. The very fact that it has made it to a third part should be either celebrated or questioned. The series started out with a simple idea, "Hey, why don't we have a bunch of funny guys black...
