Dan Brown's Inferno to be adapted
Now with more ancient puzzles!
In case you really wanted to see Tom Hanks with slicked back, longer hair again, then you are in luck! Sony Pictures has set a release date for their next adaptation of Dan Brown’s newest book, Inferno. Tom Hanks is going to reprising his role as Robert Langdon and Ron Howard will be directing the film as well. The release date is set to be December 18, 2015.
Now this supposedly was not the next film fans were expecting. According to Deadline, Sony is skipping The Lost Symbol, the third novel of the series, and is going straight to Inferno. The reason for this is probably because Inferno was just released in May versus The Lost Symbol which was released in 2009. Inferno would be newer in the minds of the readers, so it would make sense to go out of order in this case.
Here’s the synopsis for Brown’s Inferno via Amazon:
In the heart of Italy, Harvard professor of symbology, Robert Langdon, is drawn into a harrowing world centered on one of history’s most enduring and mysterious literary masterpieces . . . Dante’s Inferno.
Against this backdrop, Langdon battles a chilling adversary and grapples with an ingenious riddle that pulls him into a landscape of classic art, secret passageways, and futuristic science. Drawing from Dante’s dark epic poem, Langdon races to find answers and decide whom to trust . . . before the world is irrevocably altered.
