The next film in the quasi-reboot of the Planet of the Apes film, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, has its human lead actor. Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty) is set to replace James Franco in the Apes sequel. Taking over in direction is the Andres and Geoff favorite, Matt Reeves (Cloverfield). Mark Bomback, screenwriter for Live Free or Die Hard, has written the latest draft for the film.
Set to begin shooting next month, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes takes place 15 years after Rise of the Planet of the Apes as a small group of human survivors find ways to cope in a monkey-dominated San Francisco. Caesar (Andy Serkis) also finds conflict amongst his banana peers as he begins to lose dominance over them.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is set to hit theaters in March 2014.
