Don't go Wrong missing Quentin Dupieux' new film clip

8:00 AM on 01.02.2012

WRONG (short) EXTRACT 1 from Mr OIZO / Q.DUPIEUX on Vimeo.

Quentin Dupieux' Rubber was a shot in the arm and totally caught me (and a few of my associates) off-guard in a tremendous way. In fact, we spoke about the film extensively in our very first Flixist Movie Club. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, do so now, because it was one of my personal favorite podcasts that we've done.

The follow-up to Rubber is the just as intriguing Wrong, which had a Sundance trailer released a month ago. There's a missing dog, neck clothing accessories, and clocks that turn to 7:60am. WHAT IS GOING ON?! In this new clip, the main character is confronted with a mysterious jogger delivering a cryptic message about her employer's tardiness. WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?!

You can find out for yourselves at this year's Sundance Film Festival in a few short weeks.

Tribeca Capsule Review: The Moment

If there was a marketing blurb for The Moment that could sell its strengths, it would probably say something like "Christopher Nolan's Memento meets Michelangelo Antonioni's Blow-Up." That's really the best possible scenario ...

Tribeca Capsule Review: Stand Clear of the Closing Doors

Sometimes I watch a film and wind up thinking about two things: length and medium. In terms of length, I wonder if a feature film should be a short instead (and vice versa). In terms of medium, I wonder if the film's content ...

Trailer: Girl Most Likely

Kristen Wiig doesn't appear to be resting on her Bridesmaids laurels too much. Instead of pumping out a Bridesmaids sequel immediately following the movie's success, Wiig has been using her new-found leverage to work on some...

Review: Caroline and Jackie

There was a moment during our interview with Adam Christian Clark, Bitsie Tulloch, and Marguerite Moreau that caught me by surprise. Tulloch began to tear up when talking about a key scene at the end of Caroline and Jackie. W...

Tribeca Review: Run and Jump

Run and Jump features a bit of semi-stunt casting that got me interested in the movie: the film features Saturday Night Live's Will Forte in a dramatic role. The role isn't devoid of humor, however. Like Steve Carell in Littl...

Review: Wrong

I would love to see a staged version of a Quentin Dupieux film. His work is so clearly a part of the absurdist theater that Samuel Beckett and Eugene Ionesco made famous that it hurts a little bit. I haven't seen all of his e...more
