Flix for Short: The Little Mermaid
Lindsey Mann & Samantha Jewell's The Little Mermaid is an interesting twist on Mermaid's original fairy tale. It was created as a part of the Vancouver Film School's Compendium series, and I'm so glad it exists. The mermaid herself is a circus attraction in some wonderfully designed creepy tent. I'm also loving that makeup. Now that she's a monster, she looks more fish than woman. My only problem with the film is that it eventually copies Pirates of the Caribbean 4. It eventually makes up for it by being far more grotesque, and it is simply wonderful to watch. [via Fearnet] Did you know? 12:00 PM on 02.25.2013 See Jack the Giant Slayer early and freeOf all the beginning of the year big budget films I think I'm the most torn about Jack the Giant Slayer. I'm a little tired of fairy tale adaptations, but I also really like Nicholas Hoult and Brian Singer can have all my bab...
8:00 PM on 02.11.2013 Trailer: Jack the Giant SlayerThis new trailer for Jack the Giant Killer Slayer doesn't look fun at all. It takes the intrinsic whimsy of the original Jack and the Beanstalk fairy tale and turns it into something gritty, and action-y. Sure it's got Obi W...
