Newest trailer for American Sniper is American

I'm not usually one for these "America" films, but Clint Eastwood has proven time and time again he's good at deconstructing the jingoistic nature of the country. I've been gripped by American Sniper ever since its first tra...

After missing my chance to see it during SXSW earlier this year, Kumiko, The Treasure Hunter has been on my most anticipated list for quite some time. Based on the urban legend of a girl who mistook the movie Fargo for a tru...

This 12 Days of Christmas-themed Taken 3 trailer actually exists

The original Taken was probably one of the biggest Pleasant Surprises in recent memory. The slightly offensive but completely badass film saw the birth of Liam Neeson as an aged action star, and I'm so freaking okay wit...

International trailer for Cinderella works them shoes

I'm caught in a pickle, folks. While I want Disney's live action version of Cinderella to be different from its animated counterpart (so it has a reason to exist other than money), I don't like the changes. Thus the latest t...

First trailer for Terrence Malick's Knight of Cups

I don't have very much experience with Terrence Malick's films, but while I don't necessarily "get" his movies myself, I understand why he's a big deal. Filmed back in 2012, Knight of Cups is finally primed for a 2015 releas...

First full trailer for The Divergent Series: Insurgent

I liked the first Divergent film enough. Although it's basically a thinly veiled message of "Everyone sucks but me because I'm different," everything was just super cheesy and bad looking enough to work. It's better than the...

First trailer for Sean Penn's new film The Gunman

Sean Penn is getting up there in years and what is an aging star to do these days? Make an action movie of course. Thanks to a slew of hits from aging stars it appears we're getting another one hitting the screen with The Gu...

This trailer for Hot Tub Time Machine 2 certainly exists

Despite its flaws, Hot Tub Time Machine gained quite the momentum on home video. That's usually how most of these comedy sequels work nowadays. The original is a small hit, gains cult status on home video, then is repeated s...

Full trailer for Disney/Pixar's Inside Out is adorable

I've been digging how Pixar has been marketing their upcoming animated project, Inside Out. This latest trailer, like the last, may not feature any of the story, but it's got enough substance to chew on. I will never kn...

Trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road has a road...it is furious

You never know quite what you're getting with Mad Max, and Fury Road will deliver that bonkers mentality in spades. With this trailer (and the one released around San Diego Comic-Con) I'm already won over completely. Stunning visuals, comic grit, and we have yet to see Tom Hardy say a word. Calling it early, 2015 Movie of the Year for sure Mad Max: Fury Road opens May 15th next year.

First official trailer for Terminator: Genisys photo
First official trailer for Terminator: Genisys
by Nick Valdez

UPDATE: The newest poster has been added to the gallery! I'm digging it.

We here at Flixist have been going back and forth over whether or not we're anticipating Terminator: Genisys. For every positive move the fifthquel seemed to make (like explaining how Schwarzenegger can be so old and still be a killer robot), we get a cast full of scrunch faces and a horrible sounding story.

But despite the awful title, I'm still holding out hope because I remember long ago, when the sun was shining. I'm a sucker for Arnold Schwarzenegger, and like a fine wine, he's honing his skills with age. But then again, I remember feeling the same way before Terminator 3 made boob robots a thing.

Terminator: Genesis  Genisys stands up and starts showing just where our lives are going July 1st next year (sha sha!).

First official teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens photo
First official teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens
by Nick Valdez

It's been a long time coming. When Disney bought out Lucasfilm two years ago and announced their plans for another Star Wars trilogy, we all went into some sort of nerd shock. Whether or not you're a fan of the films, you understand the kind of weight the Star Wars name has. And whether you like it or not, this (official, not one of the many fan videos surging around social media as of this writing) first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens sets the tone for the next decade.

With J.J. Abrams directing, a huge and notable cast joining the effort (including John Boyega and Oscar Isaac), and the original tripod of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford returning, the seventh entry is surely going to reign supreme for years to come.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens releases December 18th, 2015. What do you think?
