Just to reiterate the warning, this trailer is NSFW and I have also been told it spoils some of the film's best scenes by just throwing them right into your face, so if you want to see it with innocent eyes I suggest you move along.

Maniac is a remake of William Lustig’s 1980 slasher flick of the same name and stars Elijah Wood as Frank, a serial killer who is obsessed with mannequins and lady scalps. I've just finished watching the first season of Wilfred, so it's kind of hard for me to take Wood seriously after watching him get high all of the time while talking to an Australian man in a dog suit. How great would it be if Wilfred had a cameo in this? F***ing great, that's how great it would be. Directed by Franck Khalfoun and also starring America Olivo, Liane Balaban and Nora Arnezeder, Maniac is currently touring the festivals, so we should have the opportunity to see it ourselves soon enough.

Just when the streets seemed safe, a serial killer with a fetish for scalps is back and on the hunt. Frank is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank’s obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has unleashed a long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill.
