International Trailer: Side Effects
Famed retiree Steve Soderbergh's latest and last (?) film Side Effects is inching ever closer to its February 8th release date, and as a reminder to all of the good citizens of the world, a new international trailer has been presented. It's full of mystery and suspense, hinting at a darker thriller than has thus far been shown. Personally, the only the thing I'm particularly interested in seeing is Jude Law. He looks like he's giving a strong performance, and I haven't seen him in anything in quite a while, so that's something to look forward to. I've seen Soderbergh's last couple of films (Magic Mike and Haywire, not Contagion) and I'm always adequately entertained, but the reach of his films always seems to be just a hair further than their grasp, and so they fall a little flat for me. I don't say that in disrespect, either. If anything, one of Soderbergh's strongest qualities is that he's at least always trying. There are plenty of other directors who could use a lesson in that department. [via First Showing] Did you know?
