Kevin Smith to do Clerks III when Jeff Anderson signs on

With Kevin Smith's magnum opus Hit Somebody transitioning from a single movie, to two parts, to finally a television mini-series, he needs a final masterpiece before he retires. Kevin Smith has declared via Twitter (since he's pretty keen on making announcements via social networks) that he would gladly make Clerks III as long as Jeff Anderson (Randal) signs on:

So with the HIT SOMEBODY shift, the minute Jeff Anderson signs on, my last cinematic effort as a writer/director will be CLERKS III. #TaDa

Even if I believe Kevin Smith has been on a down slope recently, it'd be nice to see him go out they way he came. Every filmmaker, regardless of quality or demeanor, deserves to end their career on something special to them. I know Jeff Anderson really struggled with signing on for Clerks II, but I hope he ends up agreeing to it. If Kevin Smith gets to make Clerks III, and captures any of Clerks' indie, anti-establishment magic, then I'll be watching it opening night. What about all of you?

Teaser Trailer: Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues

Although this looks so much like the first teaser that they may have been filmed around the same time, it's hard to deny its hilarity. It's just the Channel 4 News Team walking forward and exchanging one liners once more. Th...

Teaser Trailer: Last Vegas

I'll admit that I'm a sucker for "old men doing young things" movies desspite how bad most of them are. I sat through The Bucket List, Space Cowboys (but it was kind of good), Stand Up Guys, and I'm most likely going to see ...

Review: Frances Ha

Woody Allen's Manhattan opens with that stunning overture of "Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin. It's like a love letter to the city, the great colossus, a romanticized land of bustle and possibility. The film is a portrai...

This Is Spinal Tap soundtrack getting reissued on vinyl

This Is Spinal is one of the best movies of the 1980s and one my my favorite movies of all time. It's still the grandaddy of the mockumentary genre, and I don't think it'll be topped in terms of execution or sheer quality. Th...
