MoMI right along *banjo*

Jim Henson was one of the most creative and beloved people who ever worked in television or film. If you ask most people of a certain age, they'll usually express some sort of indebtedness to Jim Henson's imagination; if you ask me about Jim Henson, I might talk about watching the first three Muppet movies as a little boy, and Sesame Street, and The Muppet Show, and Fraggle Rock, and I might cry a little. And then I'll ask if you wanna watch Labyrinth.

The Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) has started a Kickstarter campaign to create a permanent Jim Henson exhibition. It's already well past its initial funding goal of $40,000. As of this writing, the project has raised $59,000 with 28 days still left to go. But help out and have a heart.

Check out the pitch video below.

As noted in the video, the exhibition will include more than 40 original puppets. That includes Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Elmo, Cookie Monster, the Fraggles, and a Skeksis from The Dark Crystal. Funding incentives include admission to MoMI and its various film screenings, t-shirts, MoMI membership, sponsored puppet restoration, and much more.

Yeah, I'm crying a little.
