Sources with The Hollywood Reporter say that Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg have signed on to write and produce Star Wars Ep. VIII and Star Wars Ep. IX. They will join confirmed Star Wars Ep. VII screenwriter Michael Arndt as the scribes behind the new Star Wars trilogy.

Kasdan, of course, was the co-writer of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, and the writer of Raiders of the Lost Ark. (Our own Maxwell Roahrig is ruining his underoos over the news as I type this.) Kinberg's writing credits include the Guy Ritchie-directed Sherlock Holmes and X-Men: First Class.

As of of now, it's not specified which film Kasdan will write and which film Kinberg will write. In the meantime, you may commence singing the Ewok "Yub Nub" song... now.
