New info & set photo from Darren Aronofsky's Noah

There's some new info about Darren Aronofsky's Noah, and it's sounding less like the Biblical tale and more like a harsh pre-apocalyptic epic. The Film Stage reports that the movie might focus more on the world before the great flood, a drought-stricken land of savagery, barbarism, war, and violence. Noah will be a "fighter and a healer" and sort of like Mad Max. (The ark is the Interceptor, so maybe one of his sons is a gyrocopter pilot, and the villain played by Ray Winstone is Lord Humongous.)

The Film Stage also reports that Noah will include characters called Watchers, "eleven-foot-tall fallen angels with six arms and no wings." I believe the Watchers appear in one of the Gnostic Gospels, in which Thomas says to an unnamed goatherd, "Tell me thou see this too with thine own eyes, bubba, for I behold something as sheer mad as the feculence of bats."

In addition, Aronofsky tweeted a set pic of the ark under construction which you can see in the gallery. It was accompanied by the follow text:

I dreamt about this since I was 13. And now it's a reality. Genesis 6:14 ‪#noah
