Right now, I'm not sure how to feel. While the first Machete was amazingly badass, Machete Kills looks to take what was great about the first and put the "exploit" in exploitation. I hope I didn't make it sound like that's a bad thing, it's actually awesome. Case in point, this picture of Alexa Vega (that she totes tweeted) is sort of badass (because she's holding a gun I guess), but mostly stupidly sexy. But maybe too sexy. 

The reason Michelle Rodriguez and Jessica Alba's roles worked so well in the first film was because they were allowed to be badasses before they were exploited sexually. It was great since the fact they were "totes hotties like fo' real" was underplayed, but this new image just screams the wrong message. Consider also the images and casting before now. I'll concede that Amber Heard and Lady Gaga are sexy, but they're portrayed as terrifying first, sexual second. 

One character image is not going to lessen my excitement for the Machete Kills in the slightest. It definitely makes me think, but I know I still want to see Kills six ways from Sunday. What about all of you? Am I thinking about this too much?
