Leading up to the 2014 World Cup, (which is taking forever, am I right?) artist Vik Muniz has created the quirky, tongue-in-cheek documentary This is Not a Ball. This is Not a Ball follows Muniz all over the world as he explores how people play soccer, what soccer means to different people, and how something, something much more than a ball, connects and drives all those people.
This is Not a Ball looks kinda silly judging by this trailer, but it also looks like it doesn't take itself too seriously, either. The movie's lighthearted jolliness may be appealing to a wider audience than regular soccer fans. This is Not a Ball will open in NY theaters on June 6th, 2014.
