Official synopsis for Guillermo Del Toro's Pacific RimWhile the scrapping of Guillermo Del Toro's Mountains Of Madness adaptation was a sad thing indeed, the news was alleviated slightly by the announcement that the director would be moving onto a giant monster movie called Pacific Rim. Set for release in July 2013 and with Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, Idris Elba and Ron Perlman attached to star, it's the sort of thing any movie nerd should be getting ridiculously overexcited about. We now have an official synopsis for the movie, which you can read after the jump. Needless to say, it sounds immense fun, with not just one monster involved, but 'legions', and robots built for the specific purpose of taking them down. Having Clash Of The Titans writer Travis Beacham on scripting duty is a bit of a worry, but it's the big monster battles that will make the movie and if anyone's going to make the most out of them, it has to be Del Toro. Again, follow the jump to read the synopsis. You know you want to. [via Fanboy Confidential]
