Ricky Gervais in talks to star in next Muppets film
News is coming in that Ricky Gervais is in talks to star as one of the leads in the upcoming new Muppets film. The movie is set to take place in Europe and since he is British, which for those of you without knowledge of that country is in Europe, the casting seems to make sense. The role is being compared to Jason Segel's in its level of leadiness (totally a word) since you can't really call anyone the lead in a Muppet movie except for the Muppets. At first I was a bit put off by this, as I think Gervais' comedy is a bit too harsh for the ol' felt puppet gang, but then I remembered the video above. If Ricky Gervais can pull off funny with Elmo than he can definitely do it with Kermit, Ms. Piggy and the rest of the gang.
