Rumor: James McAvoy eyes lead for The Crow reboot photo

It appears that the mostly-dead reboot of The Crow may have a little life left in it. According to an exclusive from Bloody Disgusting, James McAvoy is now circling the lead in the film. The star of X-Men: First Class, Wanted, the forthcoming Danny Boyle movie Trance will play Eric Draven, a man who comes back from the dead to get revenge on the people who murdered him and his fiancee.

The last news we reported about the Crow reboot involved rights issues between Relativity Media and The Weinstein Company, which were settled out of court. Prior to that, there had been other actors briefly attached to the film, including Bradley Cooper and Mark Wahlberg. No word if Diego Latorre's concept art for The Crow reboot will be used if the project gets off the ground again.

As The Playlist points out, McAvoy or his reps have yet to confirm if this is true. If McAvoy gets attached to the reboot of The Crow, maybe the film will get back on its feet for a few months... before going back to development hell.
