First image from Eli Roth's cannibal film Green Inferno

Here's your first look at Eli Roth's upcoming cannibal movie Green Inferno. One of Roth's favorite movies is Ruggero Deodato's Cannibal Holocaust, which may explain the Cannibal Holocaust-y vibe coming from this pic. Wonder w...

Upstream Color, the new movie from the director of Primer photo
Upstream Color, the new movie from the director of Primer
by Hubert Vigilla

Shane Carruth's Primer remains a great example of limitless creativity despite a limited budget ($7,000). It's a wonderfully intelligent mindbender that I still revisit every now and then, which is part of why I'm excited for his latest movie, Upstream Color. This is a separate project from A Topiary, another science fiction film that Carruth has written and been developing.

Like Primer, Carruth stars in Upstream Color. He's joined by Amy Seimetz (The Myth of the American Sleepover), Andrew Sensenig (I Love You Phillip Morris), and Thiago Martins (City of God). Here's a brief yet enticing synopsis:

A man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the lifecycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives.

Upstream Color will premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. In the gallery are three stills and the film's poster.

First Raging Bull II stills appear, don't look so good

I am in a minority of people who did not enjoy Raging Bull. I understand why it's good, I can see why people like it, and it's possible a second viewing would give me a better chance to appreciate it. But I'm not going to giv...
