The Crow reboot lives (for now)

The last time we heard anything about the stalled reboot of The Crow was back in November when Diego Latorre released his concept art for the film. It looks like the legal battle that tied up the movie is over and the project will move forward. The press release that Coming Soon obtained from Relativity Media reads:

The lawsuit between Relativity Media and The Weinstein Company concerning THE CROW has been amicably settled out of court, and the parties will continue to work on the film together as planned. In addition, Relativity Media has dismissed all of its claims against The Weinstein Company for any wrongdoing regarding the release and distribution of NINE, and The Weinstein Company has dismissed all of its claims against Relativity Media.

Now there's just one problem: no one's attached to the movie anymore. Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo left the project last year, and ditto Bradley Cooper. Cooper actually left one stalled project for another, hopping from The Crow to the halted Paradise Lost adaptation by Alex Proyas (director of the original version of The Crow).

So if this Crow reboot is going to happen, who would you want as director and who would you want to star?

See the Lone Ranger early and free

How do you spell hi ho? Is it like that? Hi ho Siliver, away! Or is it one word or hyphenated? I bet I could Google this and find out, but instead I'll just live in ignorance. While I'm pondering deep questions of the univers...

Sin City 2 release date pushed back

Huh. This is quite a shame. It seems Robert Rodriquez's tactic of trying to push two films into his busy schedule, Sin City 2 and Machete Kills, doesn't seem to be paying off. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, once slat...

Extended World War Z clip is pretty much World War Z

World War Z has had nothing but rough times from its first rough looking trailer. First it got a forced new ending, then it was delayed and had to go through seven weeks of reshoots, then there was news t...

Trailer: R.I.P.D.

I was won over by R.I.P.D. very easily because its lead character is named Nick (and of course it features of one my boos, Mary Louise Parker). Now if all movies could feature a guy named Nick forevermore, I'd be totally coo...

Goyer talks Justice League, WB working on Aquaman

Whether we end up liking Man of Steel or not (Matt's review indicates we'll mostly like it), Warner Bros and DC are using it as the jumping point for the rest of their cinematic universe, starting with a Man of Steel sequel a...

Trailer: 300: Rise of an Empire

Here's the first trailer for 300: Rise of an Empire (which I still want to refer to as 299) and it's everything you should expect from a 300 movie...if you can remember back that far. Since the new film will take place at th...

Review: Man of Steel

I'm a staunch fan of Superman Returns (more on that in a future post), but the rest of the world wasn't so much. Thus, with Marvel dominating the superhero movie scene, DC went back to the drawing board with Christopher ...
