Trailer: To Rome with LoveIf I could describe the trailer for Woody Allen's new movie in one word, I'd be a terrible, facile writer.* At a glance, there's a lot of great stuff in here that usually plays well with The Wood's strengths. There's young, confusing romance, weird prostitute romance, older romance, and a bit of Ellen Page lesbianism. All of it sits at the center of Allen's current infatuation with the city of Rome. While Woody Allen's New York City-centric work tends to be my favorite of his, I do love how he just becomes all about a particular city, centers a movie or two around it, and then moves on. To Rome with Love opens first, and fittingly, in Italy April 20th, followed by a limited US release June 22nd. *- The word was going to be "charming," in case you were interested. Did you know? 8:00 AM on 06.14.2013 Trailer: R.I.P.D.I was won over by R.I.P.D. very easily because its lead character is named Nick (and of course it features of one my boos, Mary Louise Parker). Now if all movies could feature a guy named Nick forevermore, I'd be totally coo...

8:00 AM on 06.12.2013 Review: This is the EndI've been harsh toward This is the End from the very beginning. First batch of trailers painted the film as a "Hey look at [enter famous name here] acting wacky!" sort of comedy, but as the trailers rolled on and hinted at th...
9:00 AM on 06.07.2013 Review: The InternshipYou may have seen The Onion skewering of The Internship as a fantastic film for 2005. It's pretty funny, but the truth of the matter is this isn't a 2005 film. It isn't a 2013 film either. This is an 80s movie and it's d...

5:00 PM on 06.03.2013 Red Band Trailer: Kick-Ass 2The last trailer for Kick-Ass 2 left me very un-enthused for the film. It just didn't seem to have the same dark comedic streak that the first one had. With a new director and screenwriter that makes sense, but it just ...
10:00 AM on 06.03.2013 BFF Review: Black OutTwo things struck me when the opening credits of Black Out came on: 1) there was a lot of style and flash in a good way, and 2) the festival's digital copy was low res. As the text appeared, so did fuzzy squares and breaks in...
3:00 PM on 05.31.2013 Review: Now You See MeI love magic. I always have. If you suspend your disbelief that magic's not real (kind of like wrestling), it can take you to a wonderful place, a place where that rabbit really did get pulled from some pocket dimension insid...
