Trailer: A Haunted House
I remember there was a time that I looked forward to movie parodies. When the first Scary Movie released, I laughed so hard I almost had an accident (I was also ten). When the sequel came out, that excitement tempered a bit. When the third was announced, I gave up on listening. The fourth...eh. And don't even get me started on Scary Movie 5. Somewhere along the line, those parodies sort of lost their luster. Marlon Wayans and Michael Tiddes (Dance Flick) want to fix that. A Haunted House is a spoof of found footage possession films like The Devil Inside and Actividad Paranormal. And while it's not that funny (fart jokes are soooo 1992), there's still some humor to be found. I'm willing to give this a chance, but if it turns out like all of those other parodies, at least I only wasted 90 minutes of my life. Did you know? 8:00 AM on 06.12.2013 Review: This is the EndI've been harsh toward This is the End from the very beginning. First batch of trailers painted the film as a "Hey look at [enter famous name here] acting wacky!" sort of comedy, but as the trailers rolled on and hinted at th...
9:00 AM on 06.07.2013 Review: The InternshipYou may have seen The Onion skewering of The Internship as a fantastic film for 2005. It's pretty funny, but the truth of the matter is this isn't a 2005 film. It isn't a 2013 film either. This is an 80s movie and it's d...

5:00 PM on 06.04.2013 Trailer: The To Do ListAhhh, the teenage sex comedy; so easy to get wrong and yet so good when it's right. Kind of like sex. Which I've had. With women. I mean my wife and only my wife. She reads this so lets make that perfectly clear. I should pr...
5:00 PM on 06.03.2013 Red Band Trailer: Kick-Ass 2The last trailer for Kick-Ass 2 left me very un-enthused for the film. It just didn't seem to have the same dark comedic streak that the first one had. With a new director and screenwriter that makes sense, but it just ...
10:00 AM on 06.03.2013 BFF Review: Black OutTwo things struck me when the opening credits of Black Out came on: 1) there was a lot of style and flash in a good way, and 2) the festival's digital copy was low res. As the text appeared, so did fuzzy squares and breaks in...
