At the end of last year, we showed you a promo video for Chinese Zodiac, Jackie Chan's 101st movie. Here's the first official trailer for the film, and it's got me pretty excited. If this is Chan's last big ballsy action film, I hope he goes out with a bang, and there are already indications this may be the case. First Showing reports that one fight scene in the film is rumored to have cost more than $10 million.
The film will follow Asian Hawk (Chan's character from the previous two Armor of God films) as he tries to take back 12 bronze Chinese zodiac busts that were stolen from the Summer Palace in Beijing by French and British soldiers in 1860. The trailer ends with the question, "What's next?" You know what I think the answer should be: a remake of It's Always Fair Weather as a martial arts musical comedy, co-starring Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao.
We have a Cannes poster for Chinese Zodiac in the gallery. Chinese Zodiac will premiere in Hong Kong on December 12th and then open across China on December 20th. No word yet on international release dates.
