Trailer: Side Effects

7:00 PM on 01.04.2013

In case you weren’t already afraid of prescription drugs and pharmaceutical companies, another trailer for the upcoming film Side Effects was released today. This is another psychological thriller by director Steven Soderbergh and writer Scott Z. Burns with both of them having worked on Contagion together. Jude Law stars in this along with Rooney Mara, Catherina Zeta-Jones, and Channing Tatum.

Now instead of a disease running rampant killing people, we focus on a woman who appears to be taking prescription medicine and some unforeseen side effects occur. Also, she is in a love-triangle with her psychiatrist played by Jude Law and her recently paroled husband played by Channing Tatum.

Personally, I’m hoping for a deeper look into the dangers of prescription drugs on top of a good thriller film. Maybe Soderbergh will make this thriller into a deeper-themed film.

We’ll see more breaking of doctor-patient ethics when it releases in theaters on February 8th.
