The lens flair is back with vengeance!

Here's the extended trailer for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness. It definitely has a bit of a somber tone, with some voice-over pointing out what everyone already knows: Kirk is awesome but he's also a bit of an egomaniac. So they're obviously setting up a humbling fall for the good Captain that he'll rise up from as a better leader...or not. Whatever ends up happening, the movie looks like it's going to be packed to the gills with action, and that suits me just fine. Of course, I've never been a huge fan of the Star Trek TV series, so I don't know how all of the trekkies out there are going to feel about it.

I'm sure what we can all agree is most important is that the lens flair has triumphantly returned! It just wouldn't be a J.J. Abrams joint without it.
