Trailer: Star Trek Into Darkness (Teaser)

The first look at J.J. Abrams's Star Trek sequel

[UPDATE: After the cut I've added the Japanese version of the Star Trek Into Darkness teaser, which includes a few extra seconds at the end]

Here it is, your first look at J.J. Abrams's Star Trek Into Darkness. This one-minute tease highlights lots of action, lots of destruction, lots of BWAAAM, and some very menacing Benedict Cumberbatch.

Tonewise it seems a lot darker than the previous Star Trek film. A full trailer and a nine-minute prologue for Star Trek Into Darkness are attached to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which comes out next week.

Star Trek Into Darkness hits theaters on May 17th, 2013.
