For those of you who may not have seen, Dreamworks' Rise of the Guardians hasn't been doing so hot at the box office. In fact, it sorta bombed. Hard. Like, could lose $50 mil hard. What does this have to do with The Croods? Nothing particular, I just felt that as a studio that releases several films each year it was nice to be given some perspective. Not all of them can been winners, apparently.
Now, on a more optimistic note, I actually see alot of promise in this trailer for The Croods, regardless of Ryan Reynolds' involvement (Just kidding, I'm sure he's a swell guy). Honestly, I don't think I've seen a Dreamworks animated picture since How To Train Your Dragon, and it was pretty fabulous, so knowing that Chris Sanders is half of the writer/director team on this project gives me hope.
The Croods releases March 22, 2013, and stars Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Cloris Leachman, Clark Duke, and Shrek. Probably. Maybe.
