Trailer: The Place Beyond The Pines
The way this trailer started off, I thought it was going to be about some action packed bank heisting! What I find instead was what appears to be a very deep and emotional film about the nature of paternal relationships and what lengths a man will go to for his son. It's a heist movie with heart, and it stars m'boy Ryan Gosling, so it's automatically one of the best films of next year, because I say so. Also starring Bradley Cooper, Eva Mendes, and Rose Byrne, the film follows Gosling's character as he attempts to put his particular skill set as a motorcycle rider to good use to provide for the son he never knew he had. Occurring parallel is the story of Cooper's character, who is a good cop that finds himself among those who don't value the law quite as much as himself. For the record, never trust Ray Liotta, even if he has a badge. The Place Beyond The Pines is directed and co-written by Derek Cianfrance (Blue Valentine) and will see release March 29th, 2013.
