Trailer: West of Memphis
The West Memphis Three may be free after 18 years in prison, but the case isn't over just yet. Produced by Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh, Amy Berg's documentary West of Memphis examines the WM3 case and demands a new investigation into the brutal child murders in Memphis, Arkansas. I'm a fan of the Paradise Lost WM3 documentaries from Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky. Over the course of three films and 15 years, they were able to track the case as it unfolded. I wonder what Berg's documentary will offer when it comes to the WM3. Based on press releases we've received, the film is making the state of Arkansas consider reopening the case. West of Memphis will be in theaters on December 28th, 2012. It will also screen at the DOC NYC film festival this Saturday. Director Amy Berg, producer Lorri Davis, WM3 member Damien Echols, and Henry Rollins are expected to attend. Look for our review of West of Memphis later this week. [Via The Playlist] Did you know? 1:00 PM on 03.11.2013 New clip from The Place Beyond The PinesIf the earlier trailer is anything to go by, The Place Beyond The Pines is definitely going to be a moody, emotional drama centered around a man who sets out to rob a bank to take care of his newly born son. It looks as...
4:00 PM on 01.31.2013 Review: Stand Up GuysSometimes I take for granted the idea of earning moments. If a filmmaker wants you to feel something, he or she needs to make you feel it without taking shortcuts. It's all about effort and honesty, because earning moments me...
8:00 AM on 01.22.2013 New TV spot for Michael Bay's Pain & GainThe more I see of Pain & Gain, the more I think that Michael Bay have been grossly misleading his career up until this point. I've never really been a fan of Bay's films or his style, but I seriously believe that this ma...
