Twilight fan novel, Beautiful Bastard getting adapted

Twilight fan novel, Beautiful Bastard getting adapted photo

You know how I wrote that feature the other day taking guesses on what the next Twilight would be? Turns out I had misjudged the central audience of those movies. It wasn't for teeny boppers as I had first thought, it's for the amalgam of "adults" that had surrounded the series and turned it into something...else...something...dirtier.

Next in the line of fan fiction book, then friggin movie adaptations, after 50 Shades of Dirty Birdies is Beautiful Bastard. A novel that originally started out as The Office, a story featuring a boss who's "exacting, blunt, inconsiderate—and completely irresistible. A Beautiful Bastard." Guh.

You know what sucks? The book didn't even go on sale until yesterday and it's getting a friggin' movie. I'm in the wrong business. Hurry everyone! Pitch your dirty fan fiction books now!

Book: Peter Cushing: A Life in Film

Peter Cushing is an icon, instantly recognizable for his angular face and his precise elocution. He's best known for his Hammer roles as Dr. Frankenstein and Van Helsing, as well as playing Grand Moff Tarkin in Star Wars. He'...

4 classic books that deserve the Baz Luhrmann treatment

With Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby adaptation releasing tomorrow in all of its big, loud, and (most likely) stupid glory. I figure it'd be a good time to go through a list of books that would benefit from the same...

Trailer: Carrie

Now we finally have our first, full look at Carrie following that teaser from a few months back (before Carrie was bumped back to October 18th) and it definitely delivers. Although it shares more than a fair share visual con...

Trailer: The Great Gatsby

Like the other trailers before it, this newest trailer for The Great Gatsby worries me quite a bit as, once again, we get a focus on the spectacle of the original material rather than the subtleties underneath (other than th...

Maggie Q and Zoe Kravitz join the cast of Divergent

Now that Twilight is fading into the obscure and Hunger Games is a beast all of its own, it's time for a new series of films to fill that tweensie void. And that series is Divergent. I talked about this awhile back explaining...

Trailer: Much Ado About Nothing

After director Joss Whedon's mega block-buster The Avengers last year, he decided to tone it down a bit for his next project. It's a bit of a palate cleanser - Much Ado About Nothing is an adaption of the classic Shakespeare...

New Neil Gaiman novel already tapped for film adaptation

I'm just going to put this out there: Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite living authors. From his mature work on Sandman and American Gods to the more kid-friendly stuff like Coraline and The Day I Swapped My Dad for...
