Twisted Metal film to be Cranked out

Mark Neveldine and Bryan Taylor have been working together for years, their partnership made famous by the Crank films, Gamer and soon to be Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. The duo has more edge in their film-making techniques than a gun/chainsaw hybrid. Baby's gotta leave the nest someday, though. Apparently Bryan Taylor is branching off into his own films and is now planning a Twisted Metal film, an adaptation of the competitive driving/shooting video game. This has to be one of the least deserving game-to-film adaptations I've heard of, but in the hands of Bryan Tayler, I expect Gamer-like thrills from this. Bryan is set to write and direct Twisted Metal. Here's a synopsis, which sounds like a spiritual successor to Gamer, which had a similar setup:
Like the game, the film will revolve around an underground event that pits a number of combatants in a fight to the death. They are outfitted in armored weaponized cars that are pimped out with heavy weaponry that includes missiles and machine guns. Some drop mines or launch electrical charges. The proprietor of the race is Calypso, a string-puller dedicating to examining the human condition, such as what makes a peaceful man violent, what terrifies a violent man and who will make a Faustian bargain in which they risk their lives. The sole survivor will get any wish granted.
