Uma Thurman joins Lars Von Trier's NymphomaniacWhen bonkers Danish auteur Lars von Trier announced his intention to film a pornographic drama featuring genuine sex scenes and provocatively titled Nymphomaniac, plenty of people were wondering whether any vaguely respectable actors would be willing to put their names down for such a project. As it turns out, von Trier's talent for making well-known actors do humiliating things in his movies is as strong as ever, managing to pick up Shia LeBeouf, Jamie Bell, Stellan Skarsgard, Charlotte Gainsborough, Connie Nielsen, Christian Slater and now The Bride herself, Uma Thurman. Thurman's role has yet to be named, but she'll almost certainly feature in one of the erotic flashbacks of the main character, a nymphomaniac (surprise) played by Charlotte Gainsborough who is found bloodied and bruised in an alleyway by Stellan Skarsgard, and subsequently tells him the story of her sex life up to that point. Whether Ms. Thurman will be getting down and dirty remains to be seen, but von Trier isn't known for his tactful treatment of female actresses - just as Nicole Kidman or Kirsten Dunst - so she's bound to be saddled with her fair share of Scandinavian friskiness. 'Cause, you know, it's art. [via EMPIRE] Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
