Upstream Color, the new movie from the director of Primer
Shane Carruth's Primer remains a great example of limitless creativity despite a limited budget ($7,000). It's a wonderfully intelligent mindbender that I still revisit every now and then, which is part of why I'm excited for his latest movie, Upstream Color. This is a separate project from A Topiary, another science fiction film that Carruth has written and been developing. Like Primer, Carruth stars in Upstream Color. He's joined by Amy Seimetz (The Myth of the American Sleepover), Andrew Sensenig (I Love You Phillip Morris), and Thiago Martins (City of God). Here's a brief yet enticing synopsis:
