About
Matthew Razak is the Editor-in-Chief here at Flixist meaning he get to take credit for all this awesome even though its really the rest of the amazing staff that gets it done. He started as a community member back in the early days of Destructoid and bugged his way into writing for the site while being the Managing Editor over at That VideoGame Blog. He was also writing as a film critic for a local newspaper in the DC area and for Examiner.com. Finally after seven years of thinking silently to himself why the Modern Method network doesn't have a movie site he told Niero that we should start one. At the same time Fronz had been telling him to start a movie site too. The two of them teamed up with Niero's go ahead and now we have Flixist.

Matthew is totally open to any movie of any genre, but his wheelhouse is horror, action and James Bond. Doesn't sound too respectable but he's also got a fancy film degree from Vassar College and he's a member of the Washington Area Film Critics Society so that makes him semi-official in some capacity. He just really like movies and hopes that's enough to let you trust his opinion on them slightly.

He get asked these questions a lot when he tells people he writes for a movie blog, so:

Favorite movie: Evil Dead 2

Favorite franchise: Bond

OK, Favorite Bond movie: From Russia With Love

Movie You Should See Right Now: Midnight in Paris

Movies You Should See You Haven't: 16 Blocks, Lucky Number Slevin, Superman Returns (but watch it as an homage to the first two films and not as a movie, it's genius that way), Singing in the Rain (I know you haven't seen it), Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

If you want to know the movies you have to see to get Flixist head here.

Red band trailer for Kill Me Three Times features killing more than three times

Kill Me Three Times is definitely an odd one. A dark comedy about an assassin played by Simon Pegg who stumbles into a mess of murdering and betrayal, it just looks kind of off kilter. That's in the best way possible, o...

Terminator: Genysis to release in IMAX 3D

Terminator: Genysis is slowly turning things around. After being easily mocked for both its ridiculous name and its ridiculous first look images the film landed with a solid trailer. I'm not actually excited for it yet, ...

Mark Ruffalo says some things about a stand alone Hulk film

It's been tough going for the Hulk when he's not in an Avengers film, but Mark Ruffalo has made everyone want a stand alone Hulk movie once again. The chances of that happening any time soon aren't to good though. We know tha...

First Crimson Peak trailer claims it is Guillermo Del Toro's ultimate masterpiece

A return to horror for Guillermo Del Toro is probably some of the most exciting stuff going on this year and with this first trailer for Crimson Peak we can see he's back in form with stunningly creepy visuals. If the d...

First look at Daniel Craig's James Bond in Spectre

Can you feel that? That's me getting way too excited by a far too short feature on the beginning of shooting on Spectre in Austria and a single image of Daniel Craig as Bond. Sony released both the video and image today...

First trailer for Hitman: Agent 47

For one of the more successful series in gaming it's really odd that Hitman failed in its first iteration as a film. While the movie didn't all out suck, they sure squandered the totally awesome idea of a genetically en...

Goetz brothers set to direct Martyr remake

Martyrs may still be one of the more disturbing films I've ever seen, and it's even harder to decide if I liked it or not. A US remake of the film has been kicking around since the movie debuted in 2008, but it seemed pr...

Review: Jupiter Ascending

I am a Wachowski defender. I have enjoyed if not down right liked every film they've made. Yes, even the second two Matrix films. If you insult Speed Racer I'll flip some tables. That movie was a kinetic and frantic mast...
