About
Matthew Razak is the Editor-in-Chief here at Flixist meaning he get to take credit for all this awesome even though its really the rest of the amazing staff that gets it done. He started as a community member back in the early days of Destructoid and bugged his way into writing for the site while being the Managing Editor over at That VideoGame Blog. He was also writing as a film critic for a local newspaper in the DC area and for Examiner.com. Finally after seven years of thinking silently to himself why the Modern Method network doesn't have a movie site he told Niero that we should start one. At the same time Fronz had been telling him to start a movie site too. The two of them teamed up with Niero's go ahead and now we have Flixist.

Matthew is totally open to any movie of any genre, but his wheelhouse is horror, action and James Bond. Doesn't sound too respectable but he's also got a fancy film degree from Vassar College and he's a member of the Washington Area Film Critics Society so that makes him semi-official in some capacity. He just really like movies and hopes that's enough to let you trust his opinion on them slightly.

He get asked these questions a lot when he tells people he writes for a movie blog, so:

Favorite movie: Evil Dead 2

Favorite franchise: Bond

OK, Favorite Bond movie: From Russia With Love

Movie You Should See Right Now: Midnight in Paris

Movies You Should See You Haven't: 16 Blocks, Lucky Number Slevin, Superman Returns (but watch it as an homage to the first two films and not as a movie, it's genius that way), Singing in the Rain (I know you haven't seen it), Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

If you want to know the movies you have to see to get Flixist head here.

New Jurassic World trailer all about dino hunting

I can't say I'm too enthused about Jurassic World as I see more and more of it. Maybe if it wasn't a Jurassic Park film I'd be excited for what basically looks like a Predator remake with dinosaurs, some child...

News that Michelle MacLaren was going to helm the Wonder Woman film got everyone pretty excited, and then news that she left the project got everyone unexcited (until Patty Jenkins came on). Of course the news was not de...

See Little Boy early and free

We haven't talked much about Little Boy, mostly cause it looks pretty darn cheesy, but if the story of a child doing everything he can to end WWII so his father will come home sounds like the kind of heartwarming you nee...

New Star Wars trailer brings the old while staying new

No Warner Brothers/DC, we're not posting Batman v Superman's trailer for a trailer

Look, we know that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's trailer is a big deal, but releasing a teaser trailer for that trailer is absolutely ridiculous. Back when this trend first got off the ground we thought it was ridiculo...

Results trailer looks weird as it should

Anyone who caught writer/director Andrew Bujalski's Computer Chess knows that he's got a very, shall we say, interesting take on the romantic comedy genre -- in that he almost completely destroys it. His newest fil...

First Vacation images makes us wonder why

National Lampoon's Vacation spawned a series of increasingly forgettable films (aside from European Vacation the first film I ever saw with boob), but a rebooted Vacation film is looking to bring back the magic...

Olivia Munn joins X-Men: Apocalypse as Psylocke

The cast for X-Men: Apocalypse just keeps getting bigger. If you thought the last one was jam packed with mutant cameos this one seems to be setting some sort of superhero record. The latest news is that Olivia Munn will be j...

First official photo from Rocky spin-off Creed

We're mostly just posting this to remind you that, yes, another Rocky film is coming and it's called Creed. Remember? Probably not since it's hard to get excited outside of the fact that Michael B .Jordan is starring in it as Apollo Creed's son. Here we have what must be an image of him visiting a retirement home and teaching the elderly how to box.  Creed releases on November 25.
