Adam West wants to be in Ben Affleck's Batman movie and the DC cinematic universe

Pure West

Ben Affleck's solo Batman movie--officially titled The Batman--should be getting underway soon. We know that hunky Joe Manganiello will play Deeathstroke in the film, but everything else is unknown at the moment.

Adam West, the Caped Crusader of the 60s, has his own ideas about what should happen. He offered the following pitch for the Batfleck movies and DC's cinematic universe:

Those guys are all wonderful talents in their own ways, and they approach the role differently, but if I could approach it in a darker way, of course, in a more serious way, however, it would be wonderful to play Bruce Wayne's father coming back. You know he was murdered, but coming back one dark and stormy lightning-riven night through a library window. Bruce Wayne is there thinking, 'I'll never solve this. This is the most difficult thing in my life.' In comes old dad, like a bat, almost.

Out of context, "In comes old dad, like a bat, almost", sounds like a line from a really fun poem. In context, of course Adam West said that--only Adam West could say that.

As the Hollywood Reporter/Heat Vision people point out, Bruce Wayne's dad was played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While Adam West probably won't be playing Dadman (Batdad?), he recently took up the cape and cowl with Burt Ward and Julie Newmar in the animated film Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders.

What Adam West really ought to be pushing is a Lookwell feature film. Check out the pilot for the show below.
