Adult Swim casually announces Rick and Morty will return this fall

Get schwifty

Adult Swim has announced that Rick and Morty's fourth season will be premiering this Fall. In a trailer typical of the style of comedy that Dan Harmon has perfected, the duo stutter in front of a black screen before getting to the point that the off-beat comedy will be coming back in 2019. There's no exact date for when the first new episode will air, but you can mark your calendars for some time in November.

While I am a fan of Rick and Morty, I'm still not over the decision to renew the series for 70 episodes. What makes the series so energetic and entertaining is that Dan Harmon has never been pressured into producing things on a consistent schedule. He's given time to let material organically come to him, which has allowed the show to continuously produce hilarious episodes. That we now have seemingly a decade of episodes to look forward to doesn't inspire me, but make me worry that the spark is going to run out at some point in the near future.

Still, I'll focus on the positives here. We've been long overdue for some more schwifty action, so I'll be waiting with bated breath for this November's premiere.
