Adventure Time producer hints at possible Castlevania TV series

More than a year ago we mentioned that a super violent Castelvania miniseries was in the works. Producer Adi Shankar made the announcement via Facebook and mentioned Fred Seibert (founder of Frederator Studios and Adventure Time executive producer) and Kevin Klonde would be involved. Since then, the project’s been pretty quiet.

In a recent interview on the Nick Animation Podcast, Seibert seemed to teased that the Castlevania project was in the works from Frederator Studios, but did so in a veiled way.

“We have a project right now that we’re doing that needs to go unnamed, based on one of the most world-famous video games of the last 30 years, that we’ve had in our shop for 12 years without being able to get it started,” Seibert said. “But there were great characters and a great story, and eventually we got it going.”

I checked Shankar’s Facebook account and noticed this winky, cryptic message:

It could refer to anything, but maybe it’s Castlevania.

Or aliens. Definitely aliens.
