Bask in the glory of Disney+'s day one lineup

Put in your time-off requests now

We knew Disney+ would provide an massive, landslide-esque rush of content from the vaults of Burbank that would no doubt shock and overwhelm a streaming audience already burning through content like tissue paper (though Netflix might be changing its tune soon...) We just didn't know things would be this... big... Oh, god.

From a story at Attractions Magazine, sourcing a Tweet by @stitchkingdom, we have a list of the new service's day one lineup of films and television series users will have access to, and it's really all quite daunting.

You've got your Star Wars and your Marvel roster, but the joy for me will be in revisiting the oddities of the Disney catalogue, available here to stream easily, rather than spend the $20+ on a nice Blu-Ray. Return to Oz, anyone?

Then of course there are classics that one might not immediately recall as Disney films. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (interestingly directed by Richard Fleischer, son of Max Fleischer, one of Disney's chief competitors in the early days of animation) is a gorgeous Technicolor classic adaptation of Jules Verne's landmark sci-fi novel. Cool Runnings is a slice of '90s nostalgia, with Doug E Doug and Leon Robinson heading the true story of the Jamaican bobsled team that trained for the Winter Olympics, coached by none other than John Candy.

The list goes on. And on. And on. Take a peek at the full roster over at Attractions Magazine. Maybe you can block out your viewing schedule to next June.

For my money, it's all about a deep dive in The Simpsons, a phenomenon that's been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and a series I've wanted to fully immerse in for awhile now. Thanks to Disney's Fox acquisitions, my pop cultural crusade can begin this November. As well, a revisit of Marvel's early-'90s X-Men cartoon will be just the sort of burst of color and action that hits me right in the nostalgia.

Disney+ launches November 12th.
