Behind You trailer unlocks the basement door to freaky ghost stuff

Ain't no mirrors opening under my watch

Creepy locked basement, eerie red lighting, and dust coated antique furniture lures us into this trailer for Behind You. It captures a good, if traditional, sense of otherworldly dread. Once you have a little girl doing a rhyme begging a mirror to open so some entity can crawl on through to the other side, you got me shaking my head at the screen wondering where the hell her parents are.

In this case, there are no parents, just some crazy old aunt letting the kids run hog wild, staying up past seven and summoning some demons!

In Behind You two young sisters are sent to live with their estranged aunt. They find that all the mirrors are covered or hidden--not a good sign that their guardian is a well-balanced individual able to care for two children. In the basement, one sister repeats a rhyme into the mirror that summons a malicious demon that haunted their mother and aunt years ago. Why would you keep a mirror like that around? Because you think it might be worth something on eBay? I can't say.

What I can say, though, is that the framing and lighting look pretty well done, which gives me hope that Behind You might be a ghostly jump scare machine that's a cut above the rest. We can find out when it haunts VOD on April 17, 2020.
