Blood Bags trailer goes heavy on blood, suspiciously light on bags

0

Just how many bags are we talking about, here?

If your horror title features two words, then I expect to see both words duly accounted for. Dead Alive featured both the dead and alive--and dead things that were still alive--earning it a big check mark. Blood Creek took place near a creek called Blood Creek. That's something of a copout, but it also features vampire-Nazi Micheal Fassbender and a zombie horse that's ready to kick someone's head off. It gets a pass.

When it comes to Blood Bags, however, I'm skeptical. Sure, there's plenty of blood in that trailer. You even see for a split second some blood coursing through a plastic tube into what appears to be some sort of IV bag--but you don't see the whole bag. Not only that, but that's the only image of a bag in the whole trailer. I'm worried the title is perhaps overstating the presence of bags in this film. Look, I've seen a million horror movies with blood in them, but bags? Now, that's a much rarer feat. Let's not skimp on them.

Joking aside, Blood Bags looks like a neat slasher. A photographer and her friend in Italy (the home of horror), break into a mansion that houses a monster yearning to feast on their blood (Blood Feast is another one that represented both halves of its title). It looks grimy and cultish, and I dig the ragged look of the monster. Probably not going to set the world on fire, but at least it's not capitalist garbage like Marvel movies, am I right?

Blood Bags will slosh onto VOD and DVD on December 3, 2019.
