Box Office Numbers: Party like it’s 1994

The top movie this weekend was The Lion King. The very same Lion King that was the top movie at the box office in 1994, though we’ve got an extra dimension this time around.

The weekend was, otherwise, fairly divided. Drive did the best out of the new movies, while Straw Dogs was largely ignored (and rightfully so). I was a bit worried about Drive getting the cold shoulder as well, but it landed at third with eleven million. Contagion stuck around in spot number two. Riveting stuff now that summer is over.

Look below for the full up numbers.
