Brie Larson gets gun crazy in red band trailer for Ben Wheatley’s Free Fire

Prolific British filmmaker Ben Wheatley does a little bit of everything. 2011’s psychological horror film Kill List had great nods to Wicker Man, 2012’s Sightseers was a sadly deranged and bleakly comic misfit romance, 2013’s A Field in England was a gripping bit of wiggy madness, and High-Rise centered on the malaise of the social order.

Wheatley’s back with a bang-up cast with Free Fire, which judging from this first trailer looks like a feature-length Mexican standoff. The film stars Sharlto Copley, Armie Hammer, Brie Larson, Cillian Murphy, and Jack Reynor.

Ooh, guns, guns, guns. Come on, Sal–the Tigers are playing *baddabop* TO-NIGHT… and I never miss a game.

Here’s the synopsis for Free Fire from IMDb:

Set in Boston in 1978, a meeting in a deserted warehouse between two gangs turns into a shootout and a game of survival.

Free Fire will be coming out some time in 2017 from A24. It recently kicked out this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. Check out a poster for the movie below.
