Bring on the neon violence with a new trailer for Too Old to Die Young

To live and die in LA

We've caught sleek neon glimpses and vague teasers, but we finally have the first real trailer for Nicolas Winding Refn's Amazon Prime Video series Too Old to Die Young, now set for a June 14th premiere on the streaming service.

Love him or hate him, Refn has made a career out of hyper-violent crime sagas, ranging from the shaky-cam Copenhagen streets of Pusher to the neon-nightmare of Bangkok in Only God Forgives. It was of course Drive in 2011 that really pushed him into the mainstream eye. That one's a wee bit violent too.

Co-written by Halley Wegryn Gross and co-created by famed comic book writer Ed Brubaker (with major runs on Captain America and Daredevil, among his original content like Kill or Be Killed), story details are vague. Miles Teller stars as an LA cop seemingly in over his head with a supporting cast of crooks and crazies including Jena Malone, Billy Baldwin, John Hawkes, and Callie Hernandez, among others. There's even a Hideo Kojima cameo.

Speaking to Screen Daily back in January, Drive composer (and former Red Hot Chili Pepper!) Cliff Martinez briefly mentioned his work on Too Old, saying it was "ten episodes that are around 90 minutes a piece," directed entirely by Refn. That's... that's a lot of blood.

Personally I'm a massive fan of Refn's. over-indulgence and all; his consistency and atmosphere throughout each film is a sort of technical, sheik nightmare each time. The above trailer feels a little more conventional, off the bat, but clearly there's a whole lot of carnage that's going to go down. This is my kind of binge-watch.
