CBS unveils logo for Star Trek: Picard, details production

To boldly go, I suppose

In a bit of incredibly tame news, CBS has announced that its upcoming Patrick Stewart starring Star Trek series will be titled...get ready for it...Star Trek: Picard. Along with that Earth-shattering revelation, the studio revealed the logo for the show that falls in line with the logos used in other Star Trek spin-offs. We're really getting creative, here.

Some actual details behind the series have come to light, though. As Collider reports, Picard will be headed up by Star Trek Into Darkness writer Alex Kurtzman. Hanelle Culpepper, known for her work on Star Trek: Discovery, will direct the first two episodes of the series. This marks the first time a woman has launched a Star Trek series, which is pretty incredible for a show that is 53-years old and has always championed equality.

As for what the plot of Picard is, there isn't much known. The series is supposedly set after the 2009 J.J. Abrams film and concerns the destruction of the planet Romulus.
