Christian Bale THIS close to lending his talent to Noah

Christian Bale as the biblical Noah seems like a good choice. He's got plenty of practice being the savior of Gotham City in Christopher Nolan's Batman films and he also stepped into the shoes of the savior of ALL OF HUMANITY in Terminator: Salvation. Why not save some people and a animals from a flood? It can be viewed like a trilogy of Bale as a savior in the past, present, and future!

However, nothing's final. Noah director Darren Aronofsky's trying to get his passion project of the ground (which intrepid reporter Glenn Morris first reported on here) and is currently in talks with Bale to play the guy who builds an arc to save God's chosen few before He floods the world and drowns all the sinners.

Paramount, Summit and Fox are all interested in the film, but with a big budget (upwards of $130 million) and risky premise (a religious film with a hard-R rating from the guy who gave us possibly the first-ever big-screen "ass-to-ass"), nobody's scooped it up yet. Can the gravel-voiced Bat-boy give it the big-name boost it needs to see the light of day?

Let me know your thoughts on the subject, because quite frankly I'm not sure how I feel.
